- About Us

Northwest Resource Federal Credit Union began in 1935 when eleven employees from Portland Gas and Coke decided to pool their money to form a financial cooperative. These founding members encouraged other gas company employees to deposit their money into the Credit Union so that their co-workers who needed to borrow could at a reasonable rate.
Today, Northwest Resource serves NW Natural employees and their families, as well as anyone who lives or works in Portland’s central city neighborhoods.
Unlike a bank, the profits of Northwest Resource are returned to our members in the form of better savings and loan rates and lower fees. Each member of the Credit Union is an equal owner and has an equal vote to elect their board of directors. The board of directors are Credit Union members who volunteer their time to oversee the welfare of the Credit Union.
At Northwest Resource, we strive to provide a rewarding experience through every interaction we have with you. After over 70 years, we are still in the business of rewarding financial responsibility and promoting thrift. We help you save (or pay yourself first) and borrow responsibly.

For Kasasa Cash, if qualifications are met each monthly qualification cycle: (1) Domestic ATM fees incurred during qualification cycle will be reimbursed and credited to account on the last day of monthly statement cycle; (2) balances up to $15,000 receive APY of 3.00%; and (3) balances over $15,000 earn 0.50% dividend rate on the portion of the balance over $15,000, resulting in 3.00% - 0.82% APY depending on the balance. If qualifications are not met on Kasasa Cash all balances earn 0.05% APY. Qualifying transactions must post to and settle Kasasa Cash account during monthly qualification cycle. Transactions may take one or more banking days from the date transaction was made to post to and settle account. "Monthly Qualification Cycle" means a period beginning one day prior to the first day of the current statement cycle through one day prior to the close of the current statement cycle. The advertised Kasasa Cash APY is based on compounding interest. Interest earned in Kasasa Cash is automatically transferred to Kasasa Saver each statement cycle and does not compound. Actual interest amount paid may be less than advertised Kasasa Cash APY. The Kasasa Saver APYs may be less than Kasasa Cash APYs. If qualifications are not met on Kasasa Cash, all balances in Kasasa Saver earn 0.05% APY. Transfers between accounts do not count as qualifying transactions.
