Which dental plan is best for you?

Compare the different types of plans here.

Dental Preferred Provider Organizations (PPOs) have an annual deductible and coinsurance, which will vary based on your budget and overall needs. If you visit an in-network dentist, you can expect this plan to follow a 100-80-50 coverage structure. (Learn about that here.)

With a Dental Health Maintenance Organization (HMO), you are required to choose a primary care dentist. With these more affordable plans, there are no deductibles — only set fees for non-preventive dental services.

If you need specialty care, your primary dentist will refer you to another in-network provider.

Dental indemnity plans are “fee-for-service" plans that usually have no network.

You will have an annual deductible for your dental care, but under this plan, the amount you pay for services is determined as usual, customary, and reasonable. (Or the amount that other providers in the area are charging for a similar service.)
