Are Kasasa accounts always free?

Yes! Nobody should have to pay to use their own money.

What happens if I don’t qualify for cash rewards?

Rewards are determined on a monthly basis. If you don’t meet your monthly qualifications, then you won’t get your rewards for that month. Even if you don’t qualify for Kasasa Cash or Kasasa Saver, each account will still receive a base rate of interest.

If you don’t qualify for Kasasa Cash Back, Kasasa Eats, or Kasasa Play, then you will not earn cash rewards for that month.

You can start earning your full rewards the very next month. And your account is still free.

Do I have to maintain a minimum balance to earn rewards?

Nope! There’s no minimum balance to earn Kasasa rewards.

What can I purchase with a Take-Back® Loan?

You can use a Take-Back Loan like any auto loan or personal loan. The terms and uses may vary depending on the institution.

Is there a fee to use Take-Backs?

No! You never have to pay a fee to use your Take-Back balance.

Will my rate change with a Take-Back Loan?

No! Every Take-Back Loan offers a fixed interest rate. Your rate will remain the same even if you choose to use a Take-Back.

Is Kasasa a bank?

No. Kasasa is a financial technology company. You can only get Kasasa accounts at community banks and credit unions.

Why can I only get Kasasa at community banks and credit unions?

Community financial institutions provide better customer service. They charge lower fees, offer competitive rates, and go the extra mile to help their neighbors.

Take-Back Feature:

Description of the Take-Back Feature: Kasasa’s Take-Back feature enables borrowers to make prepayments (payments in excess of each scheduled monthly payment) to reduce the total amount of interest they must pay on their loan.  It also gives the borrower the ability to borrow back those additional funds (e.g., Take-Backs™) should an unexpected financial need or opportunity arise.

Loan Rates & Term: Loans offering the Take-Back feature are subject to credit approval by the participating lending partner. Many factors affect credit approval and the interest rate the borrower may receive.

Loan Interest Charges & Fees: When interest begins to accrue and the method by which interest is calculated may vary type of loan and by participating lender.  Borrower may be charged a fee each time a scheduled payment is late; a fee for every payment that is returned for insufficient funds and for any applicable membership or participation fees. See the participating institution for details.

Application of Loan Payments: All payments, including any additional payments above and beyond the scheduled monthly minimum payments are applied to the loan as documented in the loan’s Truth in Lending disclosure. Making additional payments does not eliminate the borrower’s requirement to make the loan’s monthly minimum payments. Subject to applicable law, payments are applied at the lender’s discretion.

Additional Information: Borrowers must meet a lender’s underwriting requirements. Not all borrowers will receive the lowest rate. To qualify for the lowest rate, borrowers must have a responsible financial history and meet other funding criteria. If approved, the loan’s actual rate will depend on a variety of factors including the term of the loan, and the borrower’s financial and employment history; income and other factors. Rates, fees, and terms vary by lender. Contact a loan representative from your lender for additional information, details, and loan application.

Trademarks: Take-Backs is a trademark of Kasasa, Ltd., registered in the U.S.A.

Deposit Accounts:

Qualification Information: Account transactions and activities may take one or more days to post and settle to the account and all must do so during the Monthly Qualification Cycle in order to qualify for the account's rewards. The following activities do not count toward earning account rewards: ATM-processed transactions, transfers between accounts, debit card purchases less than an institution’s specified amount, debit card purchases processed by merchants and received by a participating community financial institution as ATM transactions, non-retail payment transactions and purchases made with debit cards not issued by the accountholder’s institution. Transactions bundled together by merchants and received by a participating institution as a single transaction count as a single transaction for the purpose of earning account rewards.

Specific “Account Qualifications”; "Monthly Qualification Cycle dates" and “Statement Cycle dates” are established and may vary by institution. See your selected institution’s website or contact one of your selected institution’s representatives for specific criteria; dates and additional information.

Reward Information: Depending on what Kasasa account you have, you will receive the following rewards, as determined by each participating institution, when you meet your account's qualifications during a Monthly Qualification Cycle:

  • Interest / Dividends on your checking account’s tiered balances (Kasasa Cash)
  • Cash back on debit card purchases (Kasasa Cash Back), up to a specific amount
  • Cash back on debit on select delivery services and grocery store purchases (Kasasa Eats), up to a specific amount
  • Refunds on debit card purchases on select streaming services including music, video, and gaming (Kasasa Play), up to a specific amount
  • Refunds on ATM withdrawal fees, nationwide, up to a specific amount

When your account qualifications are not met, the account’s rewards are not earned or distributed and only the non-qualifying Annual Percentage Yield (APY) is earned in interest/dividend bearing accounts. APYs are established by each participating institution and are accurate as of the specific dates published by each institution.   APY calculation methodologies will vary by account and by institution.

Account rewards will be credited to your appropriate account(s) on a specific date established by your community financial institution.

Rates, rewards, and bonuses, if any, are variable and may change after account is opened and may change without notice to you. No minimum balance is required to earn or receive the account's rewards. Rewards less than a penny cannot be distributed. Fees may reduce earnings.

Additional Information: Membership restrictions may apply if you utilize a credit union. Account approvals, conditions, qualifications, limits, timeframe, log-ins and other requirements apply. Qualifications, rates, rewards, fees, account specifics and restrictions may vary by account and by participating institution. A minimum deposit may be required by some institutions to open an account. Enrollment in electronic services (e.g., online banking, e-statements) and log-ons may be required to meet some of the account’s qualifications. Kasasa accounts are intended to be free, so there should be no recurring monthly maintenance fees, or charges to open or close the accounts. Advertised information and rewards are based on all account qualifications being met during each cycle period. Contact your specific institution for additional information, account details, restrictions, reward calculations, processing limitations, cycle dates and enrollment instructions.

All Kasasa accounts are offered by community financial institutions whose deposits are insured by one of the following:
